Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio. contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis, Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum detrude. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

On Sunday April 24th 1994, Pope John Paul II recommended this prayer be used by all Catholics as a prayer for the Church when he said:

'"May prayer strengthen us for the spiritual battle we are told about in the Letter to the Ephesians: 'Draw strength from the Lord and from His mighty power' (Ephesians 6:10). The Book of Revelation refers to this same battle, recalling before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel (Revelation 12:7). Pope Leo XIII certainly had a very vivid recollection of this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to St. Michael throughout the Church. Although this prayer is no longer recited at the end of Mass, I ask everyone not to forget it and to recite it to obtain help in the battle against forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world."'

St. Michael prayer is One of my favorite prayers, though I have not memorized it yet. But I will.. =p. I personally think it is a powerful prayer, especially kepada si penakut-penakut di luar sana. haha. Honestly, I was not really aware of this prayer for so long until I was made roommate with Latania in my foundation year, which was in 2007. She was the one who introduced me to this prayer. Eh, no, wait a minute... I think she introduced me the St. Benedict prayer, which is also as powerful as this prayer. Anyway, I was searching about St. Benedict prayer on the internet after that and came across 'The Prayer to St. Michael'. I read it through, and got goosebumps. From then on, it became one of my favourites.

Well, okay, moving on, I thought of bringing up this prayer here because of Bart. He was feeling "uneasy" at his room when we were chatting just now -- he claimed that he could feel something was behind him and he suddenly felt all chilly(right..~ but I just had to go along with him. LOL). Oh, and guess what, he also mentioned that earlier on, he got an email, and the content was a pic of a scary-looking lady in white with long flowing hair standing behind a block of building or something like that -- supposedly a lady ghost. Well now, I think we all know why he was feeling "uneasy". It's all in the mind people. Haha. Anyhoo, after convincing him that it was nothing and that his mind was simply influenced by the picture in the email, for quite a while, he still could not shake off that "uneasy" feeling. So I thought, MAYBE there was really something behind him, and I straight away thought of the St. Michael prayer. I asked him to say the prayer repeatedly until the feeling is gone. But, again, guess what? He didn't really listen, and still layan the feeling. It was so intense that he had to sign out and went straight to bed(come to think about it, maybe it was just an excuse for him to go to bed. hmm..~). Well good luck for him then.

Morning~!
